Lucian Line Jam scheduled for Monday June 13th, 2011 is an annual event coordinated and presented by LIME Mas Action...The Band. The event is sanctioned by the CDF and is enjoyed as the pre cursor to Lucian Mas.
This event was born out of the desire to jump start the St Lucia Carnival season after jazz activities which would have taken stage during the months leading up to carnival. Lucian Line Jam was first held in 1996 and has now grown to be one of the largest events on the St Lucia carnival calendar with participants jumping around the city in a carnival like atmosphere. Lucian Line Jam has also been viewed as a stage where calypsonians namely the power and groovy soca artists launch their material for the carnival season. Lucian Line Jam 2k11 is sponsored by LIME, Carib Beer, Lucozade, Crystal Lime Citrus Rum, Bounty Rum, LUMNAT Distributors, Dewar’s, J.P. Chenet, Blue Waters and Monster Energy. Lucian Line Jam begins at 12 pm from the Vigie Sports Complex. Participants hit the road at 1 pm and parade the streets of Castries until 6pm. The activity then continues at the grounds of the Vigie Sports Complex where there will be lots of prizes to be won. Only registered participants will be allowed to parade. Registration and sale of our $40.00 T-Shirt packages continues this Saturday June 11th on the William Peter Boulevard from 8 am. until. The impact of the event is being felt on the carnival circuit as it has been one of the contributing factors to the increasing participation at the carnival band level.
